Use a Mac when possible
This site was designed on a Macintosh computer and generally looks best when viewed on a monitor using the Mac gamma.
Monitor brightness/contrast
On some PC monitors, the images tend to look dark and a lot of detail can be lost in the less bright areas. One reason for this is that the default gamma setting for PC monitors is different from that for Macs. The gamma setting affects the relative brightness of bright vs dim pixels in an image. If you have a monitor that has a "presentation mode" setting, use this setting, it helps considerably.
Font size
If you use a PC, the pages will look best if you set your default font setting to "smaller" in Explorer, or down one size in Navigator/Communicator.
Viewing Movies
The movie files on this site are Quicktime movies. Free Quicktime players and browser plugins for Mac and Windows are available from the Apple Quicktime site. Some movies are 3D rotations, they look best when played back and forth, or "rocked".
