Tubule extension and retraction
In addition to the complete conversion of torus forms to more motile tubulular forms, individual organelles are frequently seen to extend relatively lengthy projections while the main body of the organelle remains stationary. In this time series, two organelles extend and then retract projections along what appears to be the same trajectory, suggesting the possibility of a common underlying guide or track. The images were aquired at 3 second intervals and are played back at 10 frames per second. The tag line shown is 38-5.
